Company Background
Jay’s Watermelonade was born in Baltimore, the hometown of Joyson Balisamore who inherited the greatest asset of love from two loving parents despite low socioeconomic conditions. When life gave Joyson watermelons, he created Watermelonade with a desire to offer healthy hydration while promoting heart health in a refreshing way.
Founder Story
Growing up in Baltimore, Joyson was no stranger to the prevalence of illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions common in urban communities of color–– all of which have been present in his family. After experiencing severe depression and high blood pressure following the loss of his mother Lisa Whiting in 2014, Joyson found healing and improved well-being through holistic and plant-based wellness.
Company Vision
Jay's Watermelonade desires to be apart of supporting a healthier Baltimore by increasing awareness of the importance of healthy hydration and providing just that. We also hope to create meaningful employment opportunities for youth and young adults in Baltimore city.
